The series of volumes presents a collection of photographic images which, thanks to their force of communication, have become in the collective memory real icons of the events they depict.
The photographs are all accompanied by an editorial comment, are presented in chronological order, grouped in periods, and introduced by historical explanation. A chronology is available at the end of the book.
Same contents are arranged thematically, thus each volume is devoted to a specific theme and they range from the beginning of the XX century up to present days.
